Oh I’m wanting to look deep into your eyes The windows of your soul There are many hidden secrets deep inside I want to know them all Will my curiosity be satisfied And will your thoughts lie bare? But the answers like shimmering butterflies Float off into the air CH. And you give me those sidelong glances That seems to be where our romance is Sidelong glances But still for me The passion dances And if life is like an ever-changing sea And everyone an island Then I’d like to keep your island company And have it next to my land And I’d love to keep you warm in my embrace And feel your heart-song beating Then you move away into a different place Our eyes no longer meeting Coda (Montuno) Dear come closer to me Don’t give me those sidelong glance (look me straight in the eyes/i’m telling you take off your disguise/ stop the masquerading, i’m waiting/to have some hot romancing cone closer/feel the passion dancing saki to me baby/or it’s sayonara sweetheart)

Won’t you tell Of the times and places that you knew Won’t you tell … Won’t you tell Of the whispered secrets and the sighs How you laughed how you cried Won’t you tell Dear old lady won’t you tell Of the shady willow tree Where you picnic-ed one day Happy and gay So far away Won’t you tell us Won’t you tell Of the people woven through your life Won’t you tell … Won’t you tell Of the lovers walking hand in hand Of the waves on the sand Won’t you tell Dear old lady won’t you tell Of the make-believe you played Of the costumes and robes Carnival clothes So long ago Won’t you tell us Sitting in your rocking-chair Honeysuckle in the air Do you smell the fragrance Of a flower you once put in your hair? Sky is streaked with crimson dye There’s a teardrop in your eye Do you see another sunset Colouring another sky? Won’t you tell us Won’t you tell How you got the wisdom in your eyes Won’t you tell … Won’t you tell Why your face is soft as peaches’ down Why you smile, why you frown Won’t you tell Dear old lady won’t you say Is it fading all away? Do you sit in its glow? What do you know? Where do you go? Won’t you tell us Won’t you tell You remember it well

Punky Monkey 03:40
Punky monkey Jumping in the garden Where the elephant plant grows Punky monkey Avocado on his nose Dig some dirt and pick a feijoa Pull the string that starts up the mower Chorus How we love our punky monkey He’s a little monkey man Catch him if you can (Binky bunky chinky chunky Plinky plunky minky monkey man) Punky monkey Whirling through the hallway Like a miniature typhoon Punky monkey Singing little nonsense tune “What dis is?’ and “What dis inside it?” “Here’s my horsie I want to ride it” Punky monkey Dippin’ and a-divin’ In a dazzling flash dance Punky monkey Losing his elastic pants Be a buzzy butterfly ‘Helicocter’ up in the sky

Where did the green meadows go? Where I was Mother Nature’s child With all the flowers growing wild Where did the green meadows go? Though we have lawns it’s not the same It’s not the same, just not the same And we’ll have no more fun and games Can’t we go back again To the green meadows? Where did the barefoot days go? Walking on grass and clover sweet And getting prickles in our feet Where did the barefoot days go? Nylons must go with city frocks I have no nylons, only socks I feel I’m just a laughing stock Can’t we go back again To the green meadows? Where did my dear daddy go? I was his sweetheart, he was mine And we would be so for all time Where did my dear daddy go? Charleston-ing days are now so far Farewell farewell my dancing star Farewell farewell my dear papa Can’t we go back again To the green meadows To the green meadows To the happy days To the country ways Gathering bouquets From the green meadows

1. I think I’ll change my name to Flossie Flossie has gloss Flossie’s the boss Playing a Rhodes Flossie’s coloss And Flossie at the fair Is a fabulous thing To nibble as you mosey A sugar rosy posy …… But that could lead to caries And raise some other queries … “Do you floss, or don’t you floss?” Hmmmm CHORUS So I think I’ll stick to Linn ‘Cause it’s been through thick and thin And it’s not extraordinary But somehow it feels like me 2. I think I’ll change my name to Daisy Daisy’s the craze She will amaze Up to the skies Daisy gets praised And Daisy on a bicycle’s a nice little thing With men proposing marriage Who can’t afford a carriage But lovers with a riddle “She loves me, she loves me not” Will leave her just her middle …Ouch! CHORUS Bridge In London town they called me Kiwi Ki-waint ki-wick and ice-kiw-eamy But now I’m back in old New Zil I’m just one kiwi of three mill CHORUS (second bridge) In Italy they called me Lina In Naples little Carciofina But now I’m back where I was born And Lina just means Lina Horne 3.I think I’ll change my name to Gingie Gingie’s unhinged She’s on a permanent binge She has a fringe with a gingery tinge And Gingie in Brazil is a song by Jobim Where ladies are good looking And samba bands are cooking Cooking???!!!! Could it be or could it not Our little Ginger gets the chop And ends up stir-fried in the wok! Wok?! CHORUS CODA I’m fond of little water-falls Just like the Linn of Dee I think I’ll go the Scottish way And spell it differently

There’s a wonderful love Growing inside of me And it’s wonderful wondering where it came from Why has it chosen me? And it’s growing inside of me Wonderful love Beautiful love wonderful love inside of me There’s a wonderful song Growing inside of me And it’s wonderful wondering where it came from What is the melody? And it’s growing inside of me There’s a wonderful life Growing inside of me And it’s wonderful wondering where it came from Will it be he or she?

Guess you’re doin’ the same Tell me what became of Johnny Mac Gone too far and he ain’t comin back Johnny Mac Always seemed to run amuck Golden heart But he was switched to self-destruct How I wished that I could help him Turn his head round with my song Tell me what went wrong with Johnny Mac Tell me what became of Andre III Lonely scion of the family tree Andre II How he loved to play the game Tried to drown All his failure all his pain How I wished that I could help him Turn his head round with my song Tell me what went wrong with Andre III

Oh Johnny spilt the milk today It’s not the end of the world And Michelle won’t come out to play It’s not the end of the world And little Mila cut his chin By falling on the rubbish-bin It’s not the end of the world And Congress has approved today The means to blow us all away! It’s the end of the world Oh John and Janet got divorced It’s not the end of the world And Billy quarrelled with the boss It’s not the end of the world And Mary owes the landlord rent The money is already spent It’s not the end of the world There’s fifteen thousand megatons To blast us all to kingdom come! INTERLUDE (nuclear winter) No more sun No more light No more warm No more bright No more blue skies No more birdsong No more children’s laughter After ….. Ca va changer Ca va changer un jour The sun will rise upon a different world A better world The earth’s renewal Ca va changer Ca va changer un jour And this new planet earth Will have the splendour of a jewel And its emerald glow Comes from the soul of forests and trees Living and whole And its sapphire sheen The aura of lakes, rivers and seas Shining and clean And the diamond that blazes The mind of man Seeing clear Without greed or aggression or fear There’s true harmony there Ca va changer Ca va changer un jour And you will be a facet Tiny, small But you will see it all Ca va changer ****************************************** FRENCH VERSION: Ca va changer Ca va changer un jour Et le soleil se lèvera Sur un joyau, Un nouveau monde Ca va changer Ca va changer un jour Et ce joyau se renouvell’ra ses feux A chaque seconde Son éclat d’émeraude Vient des forêts bien restaurées A leur verte beauté Son éclat de saphir Vient de la mer De ses profondeurs Laisées en paix Son éclat de diamant Vient du coeur des hommes De leurs esprits D’avarice et de haine bien guéris Répandant l’harmonie Ca va changer Ca va changer mon p’tit Et toi tu sera une petite facette Faut pas que tu t’inquiètes Ca va changer

about

This, the second album of Linn Lorkin's original songs, was recorded in 1990 and is a pop-oriented collection with full guitar-based arrangements by the one and only Hershal. It contains not only 10 sparkling songs revealing yet again her formidable and unique song-writing talents but also a veritable who's who of New Zealand musicians and singers. Martin Winch, Brendan Power, Tama Renata, Beaver, Peter Scott and Pipe Major Lewis Turrell are just a few of the many talents represented here and for its time it contained an innovative overlay of Pacifica colours, such as the use of a Samoan girls'choir and Fijian log drums. It contains Linn's chilling anti-nuclear "End Of The World" and her "Ca Va Changer" a message of hope for a better world.
